What do you believe?

What do you believe?

There is no shortcut to success is what i grew up hearing from my parents. We all somehow believed that there is really no shortcut to success; maybe they are right but i have discovered a shortcut!

I have read several books on success and i discovered that there are several principles that really work for or against all these so-called successful men but one thing that is common to them all. What makes some men more successful than others is that those who've achieved extraordinary results in their lives have done so because they had an immutable belief in themselves.

They know that if they are to make their dreams a reality and accomplish their goals, they have to believe that they are capable of doing so. This level of personal belief, confidence, and self-esteem comes from the deepest part of our inner core. It is this internal source that powers otheir abilities, movements, thoughts, talents and skills to do their job and perform the tasks at hand.

I’m tired of seeing timid people around me who hope to succeed (They embrace timidity and then call it humility). Believing in yourself is a gift no one but yourself can give you. Unfortunately most of us tend to believe in the ill and negative thoughts, advice and comments from people around us. We derive our self-beliefs and thoughts about ourselves from others rather than on ourselves.

We internalize past conversations and actions people had on us, as if their negative opinions really matters. In the end without being able to strengthen our self-confidence. we are left with nothing other than with past based conversations about our feelings of self worth.

I’m not afraid of been tagged a lousy dude when it comes to the things i believe in. I believe that poverty is a curse and anyone who is poor is a criminal. I believe that we CHOOSE what ever we get in life and LUCK does not exist except in the dictionary.
I believe that Africa is a wealthy continent despite all we are going through as a people. I believe that religion is a curse to man and it’s a big curse to our world (I can already hear some folks screaming “i thought this guy was a Christian”). The more reason while i have the liberty to say the truth always. Jesus came to destroy tradition and religion. I believe we are all much greater than we can possibly imagine. It doesn't matter how great or how much we may have accomplished, there is still so much more for you and I.
I believe there is no right or wrong until we choose to label it as such.I believe that true salvation comes from believing in God and realizing that his spirit is within us and also walking in the consciousness of the light.
I believe that what goes around comes around; do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
I believe that peace starts within each individual; If we want peace we cannot afford to think negatives.
I believe that our life changes when we take total responsibility for our thoughts and actions.
I believe we each create our life moment by moment and day by day; I believe we create tomorrow's Karma today.
I believe there is no competition for there is more than enough for all; what is mine is mine and no one can take it from me.
I believe there is enough for all and if I do not have what I desire it is because I have not finished the work it takes in my consciousness for me to
receive it.
I believe love between two people is forever and if it isn't then it never
was; it is no ones business who we love except the person we love.
I believe we are where we are because of the actions we took earlier in our
life- sometimes consciously and mostly unconsciously.
I believe we will receive it when we truly believe it, accept it and allow
it.
I believe all things begin with happiness. Only when we are happy can we
truly create what we desire.
I believe there are no boundaries or separations to the self, that I make my own realities and also that I receive what I ask.
I also believe in you cos there is no Me without you. My friend, this is the only shortcut to success that I know! Take out time to post your thought, comment, reservations and suggestions by clicking the comment link and always remember to stay inspired.

(This post is specially dedicated to all those who are almost loosing hope in themselves, you cannot afford to stop believing in yourself.I love you.)

How do you manage your time?

I can’t forget in a hurry my struggles with simple habits. The most annoying of my bad habits was poor time management. I can still remember how i use to get determined every passing day never to get late for meetings. My prompt and regular apologies for ALWAYS coming late were always embarrassing. I almost thought i was under a deep spell until i realized that my struggles were only based on what i felt SHOULD be done.

I was just putting my room in order about two weekends ago when In the process of clearing and organizing, I came across some notes I wrote to myself on essential time Management (I wrote this notes about 14months ago). The word essential refers to the essence of who we are as well as the essence of time management, and how to take time management out of the realm of the ego and have it emanate from the soul. Time management becomes much more compelling when it emanates from the soul. Although still rife with challenges, it’s easier to align with and feel motivated from a deeper truer part of yourself – from your soul rather than your ego. Discipline, then, is an expression of your deepest truth rather than just a “should”.

The “African time” culture is already part of our being in this part of the world and it’s destroying our personal values, our income potentials, our business opportunities and also our economy as a whole. I have personally canvassed that the real truth every man should embrace is self management and not time management. It might be hard to tell what your time is really worth until you know what you’re really worth.

Self management means your true self, purpose and your intentionality is then merged with your actions. Applying WILL to your life means getting present, getting on track, bringing your soul into focus, getting clear highly-tuned dynamic movement. How you use your time determines whether your life is an expression and fulfillment of who you really are, what you want, and your life purpose and mission. That’s the main reason to practice essential time management. Self consciousness and awareness must be attained by the individual. To be inspired and intentional and move toward greater satisfaction and fulfillment, to have time for contemplation, fun, being ourselves, being with those we value, and leisure, allowing and expressing your heart’s desire!

What we’ve been told about ourselves (and what we’ve continued to tell ourselves) also affects how we use our time. What do you tell yourself? What have others told you? Cease to keep this a secret. It liberates so much energy to bring this into the daylight. It has taken more energy than you realize to keep it hidden, to attempt to compensate, etc… You can use that energy in better ways! Allow it to serve your transformation instead. Truthfulness is the agent of transformation: Telling the truth about who and how we are. The lies we believe and repeat keep us from truly supporting ourselves. THIS is the core of procrastination. (i’m very guilty of this because i have about 40 fresh posts that can really inspire lots of people but i just refuse to post them because i was “busy”.)

Continuing to tell ourselves the truth is essential for progress. Holding the bigger picture is a discipline. Keep returning. No need to judge yourself for losing focus, it’s completely natural to do so; just renew your focus again and again.Return to sensing what you really want and what’s important to you; reconnect with yourself, your purpose, your highest intentions. Remember and value who you really are and your purpose. True discipline will arise naturally. This is like a muscle; it’ll become stronger as you use it and challenge yourself regularly. Remember how I spontaneously found myself organizing and clearing?

As much as we may want them, we also fear having love and success because we fear having them and then losing them. Again. We don’t want to feel the pain of that loss which will remind us of the other times that we’ve experienced these losses. THIS is one of the main obstacles to true time management!

I return to these notes from time to time, learning something new or deepening my understanding each time. Since I've shifted and grown since I last read them, I'm able to see or hear some things in a different way, it's able to penetrate further, and my understanding has shifted too. I know that Essential Time Management is key to living the life of my dreams so I persevere......and keep returning.

Can you imagine how my old write up inspired me? You can always stay inspired by staying in the zone.

I believe in you.

God gave us the gift of life. How we choose to live it is our gift to him.

I believe everybody has a reason for being. We are all born with a purpose, a set of skills, a bevy of abilities, and a talent or two. Our life should be in the uncovering, identifying and expressing these gifts to benefit humanity. For those who have been fortunate enough to uncover it early in their lives they have gone on to develop those gifts into careers and thus prosper.

My personal research helped me discover that an average Nigerian and even African has been programmed to fail. I often tell the people around me that you need to “do” more than your “contemporaries” in other parts of the world if you do not want to fail. I consider myself as one of the few “lucky” ones in this society who recognized his gifts early.

Then there are others who only after years of experiences, contemplations, trials, tribulations and errors have found theirs. Some stumbled upon it by accident. Others, their friends and family tell them of it or practice heavily on an interest until it became their life's work. Then there are the vast others who have yet to uncover their gifts and interests and develop them into careers that will ultimately add to their lives in ways they can only comprehend.

I've uncovered my interest; I recognized how much I enjoyed talking, inspiring and motivating people to live amazing lives. I discovered that the true purpose of my life is to help others find theirs, to help people heal from their emotional scars, to be a source where others can find safety as they transform themselves into who they are supposed to become.

I was also able to discover that i have a passion for doing business, this combined with my passion for helping others gave me the resolve to raise entrepreneurs and consult for start-ups. I’m happy staying in my place of calling – been a consultant, trainer, author and public speaker. I still work on becoming better in all of these everyday so that i can be able to add so much value to everyone i come across.

So what is your purpose in life? What are you passionate about? What interests or abilities, regardless on the size of them, can you develop to produce income? What is it that you love to do, can do easily or are naturally good at? How can you develop them into your life's purpose? When you are on purpose, eventually people, resources and opportunities you need to accomplish them will start to gravitate your way. Once you decide what your purpose in life is, then start to organize all your activities around accomplishing that purpose. This purpose will act as your guide and like a compass point you, your goals, and your actions into the right direction.

I believe in you. Stay inspired.

An hijacker who was almost hijacked!

How much of thank you can I say to all those who stood by me during “my trying times”? Writing bundles of interesting articles but being unable to post hasn’t got any better expression than to call it “my trying times”.Afterall,my trials gave me an opportunity to publish a book even though I didn’t. It’s being exactly five months since all addicts of this blog got a feel of my thought-I’m happy to let you know I’m back for real and forever. I’m still trying to figure out the wisdom of cutting the branches of a tree without pulling it’s root or how else would one rationalize that a man somewhere hijacked my site without “hijacking” the writer!

I’ll share some of the lessons I learnt from this imbroglio with you in subsequent posts. Permit me to talk a little about myself, maybe it will make a little sense to all those who have being itching to know.

My life has seen very few failures. However, the biggest failure was mediocrity. I was brought up in a middle class, surroundings in the city of ikeja in Nigeria. Since the time of my birth, my life seemed already to have been choreographed. All middle class kids were inculcated with the same ideals and philosophies of life–study well, get good grades, find a good job, get married, settle down, have kids, give them a good education, retire and die broke!

Well, when I say broke, I don’t mean penniless; I mean broke–with respect to how much you could have earned and accomplished.

Peer, parental and societal pressures forced me into a professional career, for if you did not become a doctor or a banker, you were considered a failure. I maintained a comfortable standard of living sustained by a steady job after my compulsory National youth service but I never stretched myself. I always succeeded because my goals were set low even though I knew I had the passion, but that passion seemed to be redirected at trivial things.

Life was fun because I could afford the basics and catch an “extra” bottle of beer whenever I wanted. Like many men, I wanted to get the best out of life, the quest to do more made me realize that life itself wasn’t about my job or what I have but about the number of lives I add to.

I started to think about my career and my passion; I was just fourteen months old on my precious job. I wanted to focus my energies in the pursuit of life’s gems and not on it’s trivialities. I gave up that which was my most precious possession to pursue my dreams without shoes on!

As I write, I had to “hijack” my job to pursue my passion; to help people and companies. In the process I also unshackled myself from the daily grind of a 9 to 5 job. Rather than be a cog in somebody else’s wheel, I wanted to be my own wheel. So far, this has been the most exhilarating journey of my life.

If my story helps but one person to reflect upon life and think about the passion they always wanted to follow, then I would be most delighted to have helped in that realization. Your comment about this piece can go a long way to inspire someone to get out from his comfort zone. Stay inspired.

Time is the coin

"Time is the coin of your life. It is the only coin you have, and only
you can determine how it will be spent. Be careful lest you let
other people spend it for you." - Carl Sandburg

Imagine there was a bank that credited your very own account each morning with a large sum of money. But, it carried over no balance from day to day. Every evening it deleted whatever part of the balance you failed to use during the day. What would you do? Draw out all of it, of course!

Each of us has such a bank. Its name is - Time. Every morning, it credits you with 86,400 seconds. Every night it writes off, as lost, whatever of this you have failed to invest to good purpose. It carries over no balance. It allows no overdraft.

Each day it makes a new deposit for you. Each night it burns the remains of the day. If you fail to use the day's deposits, the loss is yours. There is no going back. There is no drawing against the "tomorrow." You must live in the present on today's deposits. So you must invest it so as to get from it the utmost in health, happiness, and success!

Time is a truly mysterious quantity. When you are enjoying yourself, it flies past; when you are waiting for a bus, it drags by - isn't that true? But time is the stuff from which our dreams are crafted. We must first have our dream, of course, but then our actions cause our dreams to become reality - and our actions are subject to the constraints of time.

Everyday you are blessed with a fresh 24 whole hours to do what you please. If you invest your time wisely, you will turn your dreams into reality; if you squander this precious resource, you will forever be just a dreamer.

Like Mother Theresa would rightly say "Yesterday is gone.Tomorrow has not yet come.We have only today.".......Please maximise your day and stay inspired.
