Out from your comfort Zone!

I have attended lots of seminars, read books, listened to tapes and I have never come across any that has really emphasized the need for us to begin to pack our bags and baggage and GET OUT from our comfort zone as fast as possible. I’m already used to hearing desire, determination, discovery as some of the keys to succeeding. I also need to add one more to it which I call GETAWAY. GETAWAY is simply your ability to escape from your comfort zone! How can one decide to leave a zone that we say it’s comfortable? Sounds crazy, right? Ride with me……

What is a Comfort Zone? Just like the name implies, It's the place where you feel safe and comfortable. It's the lifestyle you're used to, the belief system you have, things you do on a daily basis. It's your personal little world where you are safe.
Sounds good, right?

It is, if you are completely satisfied with who you are and what you have. If that's the case, congratulations! You're living a dream life!
But if you want to become more, to achieve your most treasured goals, to fulfill your potential, then your comfort zone becomes your danger zone!
Why?
Because it holds you back!
You see, in your comfort zone you will receive the same results you've always got. There's no room for any change. Staying in your safety place can be fatal to your personal growth. If you're not learning new things and trying something new, the world will be simply passing you by.
Got a job you don't like? You can stay there forever, it's safe, but is it good for you?
The beliefs you've learned from your parents are familiar and comfortable but are they really working for you?
The habit to put things off and procrastinate is inseparable like your second name, but how many troubles has it caused?
If you want more of anything in your life, the place to start is with your comfort zone. By expanding your comfort zone you allow yourself to change, to grow, to develop.
Learning to step out of your comfort zone is essential for successful goal setting. Nothing significant was ever accomplished in comfort zone.
So, what's the solution?
To change your comfort zone you don't need to make 180 degree turn, move to the North Pole and start studying penguin habitat.
You just need to develop a new habit to expand your comfort zone little-by-little.Take a small step everyday. Do something you've never done before. Move the limits one inch at a time.
It sounds simple, but most of us are afraid even of small changes. Everything that is outside our safety zone associates with pain, anxiety, and discomfort. That's why most people fail to improve their life. It's just too much pain.
Achievement expert Brian Tracy says, "90% to 95% of people will withdraw to the comfort zone when what they try doesn't work. Only that small percentage, 5 or 10 percent, will continually raise the bar on themselves; they will push themselves out into the zone of discomfort, and these are always the highest performers in every field."
The more you step out of your comfort zone, the easier it gets.
Something amazing happens when we face our fears and overcome them. You feel like a world starts opening up to you. You develop self-confidence. You feel energized and excited. You start to live with joy.
Here are some things you might try:
1)Read a book in a genre you don’t usually read
2)Start learning a new language
3)Go to a catering or cooking school
4)Learn public speaking
5)Go to a lunch by yourself
6)Smile to someone you don't know in the supermarket
7)Start meditating
8)Unplug your TV for a week. (Just gave mine out! - You'll be amazed how much more free time you'll have.)
9)Give someone you barely know an unexpected little gift.
10)Try meeting new people or friends

It's a good idea to make your own list of about 40-50 new things you might try and then start doing it one-by-one. As you've tried something, cross it off from your list and congratulate yourself!
Don't stay parked in your comfort zone, get on a road of your life adventure and always STAY INSPIRED!

Wet pants

May God help us to see the opportunities that are always around us to do well. Remember…just going to church doesn’t make you a Christian any more than standing in your garage makes you a car. Each and every one of us are going through tough times right now, but God is ready for you only in a way that will surpass your imagination…
Come with me to a third grade classroom…there is a 9 year old kid sitting at his desk and all of a sudden, there is a puddle between his feet and the front of his pants are wet. He thinks his heart is going to stop because he cannot possibly imagine how this happened. It’s never happened before, and he knows that when the boys find out he will never hear the end of it. When the girls find out, they will never speak to him again as long as he lives.
The boy believes his heart is going to stop; he puts his head down and prays this prayer, “dear God, this is an emergency! I need help now! Five minutes from now I’m dead meat.” He looks up from his prayer and here comes the teacher with a look in her eyes that says he has been discovered. As the teacher is walking towards him, a classmate named Susie is carrying a goldfish bowl that is filled with water. Susie trips in front of the teacher and inexplicably dumps the bowl of water in the boy’s lap. The boy pretends to be angry, but all the while is saying to himself. “Thank you, lord! Thank you, lord!
Now all of a sudden, instead of being the object of ridicule, the boy is the object of sympathy. The teacher rushes him downstairs and gives him gym shorts to put on while his pants dry out. All the other children are on their hands and knees cleaning up around his desk. The sympathy is wonderful. But as life would have it, the ridicule that should have been his has been transferred to someone else-Susie. She tries to help, but they tell her to get out. You have done enough, you klutz!”
Finally, at the end of the day, as they are waiting for the bus, the boy walks over to Susie and whispers, “you did that on purpose, didn’t you?” Susie whispers back, “I wet my pants once too”.
The moral of this is that we need to begin to see that life is not just about us.This gave me an insight into why lots of people are poor in this nation-Selfishness.People seldom acquire big visions when they think about themselves alone. We need to start thinking about solving national and global problems if we truly want to succeed. We need to begin to see that the essence of life is in affecting lives and not acquiring "assets".
You can actually make someone's xmas merrier by just a little gift. You are far better than millions of people no matter your situation.Think about it and STAY INSPIRED!

What's the fuss about the New Nigerian club?

Hey friends!I have being getting lots of phone calls and mails in the last three weeks from my friends in and outside the shores of Nigeria on what the new Nigeria club is all about. For the uninitiated, the new Nigeria club is a club for Nigerians and the friends of Nigeria who believe that Nigeria is a blessed land and that things cannot continue like this. This club is for anyone who believes that things can be better than it is now.

Going by the fact that my week was really hectic,i still had to create time to go do some research to answer some of the plaguing questions that was posed to me.Without mincing words,i did a thorough analysis of the concepts, the motive, the promoters and also the " real benefit" of being a member of the new Nigerian club.My curiousity took me to elomaz hotels,maryland,Lagos-Nigeria;the venue of the press briefing/awareness on this project. To really say i was overwhelmed by this project would be a complete understatement.Without adding much ado to nothing,i'll go straight into the details of my findings.

The New Nigeria Club, was formed by idealistic young Nigerian professionals who believe in the dream of a better Nigeria, where life can be better, corruption and poverty can be eradicated, beautiful opportunities that will make life better will be created and tapped into. The youth can also use this as a vehicle to have a voice and sense of belonging in pushing the nation forward. The club will thrive on two concepts, designed to bring members a range of benefits through its wonderful deals and a compensation plan where, members can earn savings, commissions and income.
It will also run on the powerful tool of network marketing, which gives everyone opportunity to generate substantial recurring income and products that are practical and meet our everyday needs, the benefits from the deals that are steadily been created are phenomenal. The club is being managed by a dynamic organisation with team of network marketers, IT developers and business development specialists, with each member playing its role in achieving the New Nigerian dream. It is important to note that this is not an investment scheme. There are no commitments on any return, and all transactions are for club membership of a club that believes in the Nigerian Dream.

It costs thirty thousand naira to be a member of the NNC.Membership is strictly through an already existing member and referral of new members is optional. If you ask me,this is sweet basically considering some of the fantastic deals we now have and for the fact that you can earn about seven hundred thousand naira across the boards if you choose to introduce two new people only.In the words of the promoters of this scheme,Some of the deals available presently are as at December 1, 2007. "We are leaving out the actual discounted prices here to avoid creating unnecessary pressures for the listed companies. We are also working hard to ensure that by the end of this year alone we have nothing less than 20 deals. We expect that members of the club also have the opportunity to present their businesses discount opportunities to other members of the club".

Knowledge is the key!

I can authoritatively tell you that your life cannot be greater than what you know.Man’s quality cannot be better than the quality of his knowledge. What goes on in your mind goes a long way in determining what will happen in your life; change your thought to alter the direction of your life. We must know that mind power is superior to muscle power. What you learn determines what you earn, what you know more than others is what keeps you ahead of them and what determines what you know, the books you read, the people you associate with, the education you acquire.“Law of integrative complexity” says; in every group of individuals, the person who can absorb, integrate and apply the greatest quantity of essential information will eventually dominate all the other individuals within the group.I want you to know that in this country, people who knew nothing but who had access to the corridors of power made a lot of money and seem to be successful but in few years to come, merit will begin to count. So it’s going to be what you know that’s going to count. The average person born in this country is programmed for mediocrity, don’t sign in for mediocrity, go to school, read powerful books, listen to tapes, attend those seminars. Change your thinking and change your life.
