YOUR OWN BIT IS NEEDED

Hey buddies,
Good to see you again. Someone once asked me if I was a machine cos it seems I try to do so much and i love to attend almost all meetings and seminars in town. I want to say here that doing right is not our nature as humans,we have to work at it consciously.I now know that all that works is been worked at and i have also learnt that nothing moves until we move.I also discovered that our world is but a reflection of who we are. Therefore, if we want to change the world, all we have to do is to change ourselves. We don’t need to change our parents for raising their voice at us, but rather listen to them carefully when they speak. We don’t need to change those that treat us like little kids, but rather act more mature around them. We don’t need to change our supervisors for not trusting us, but rather do an outstanding job consistently and gain their trust. The world is not something mystical or unknown. The world is the exact reflection of that which we choose to ignore about ourselves. The way to change the world is by changing ourselves. As mahatma Gandhi said “you must be the change you wish to see in the world”.
Most Nigerians complain a lot about everything. They start by complaining about their country, they say nothing is working and they flee a land flowing with milk and honey and they go in search of “greener pastures”. They complain about their friends and loved ones, families, what they don’t have. They also complain that their leaders are the major cause of their woes. Their attitude towards life is nothing to write home about. A life full of complaints will always see opportunities as difficulties.
Let’s beware of our attitude towards life because it will determine life’s attitude towards us. Our own quota or contribution is needed no matter how small. You cannot help others become a better person unless you are that person. As I wind up, I leave you to ponder over this:
As a young man, I wanted to change the world. I found it was difficult to change the world, so I tried to change my nation. When I found out that I could not change my nation, I began to focus on my town. I couldn’t change my town either, and as I grew older, I tried to change my family. I now realized that if long ago I had changed myself, I could have made an impact on my family, my family and I could have made an impact on our town. Their impact could have changed the nation and I could indeed have changed the world.Your own bit is all that is needed to get things done. Until i come around here, always aspire to STAY INSPIRED.

I wish many more people had the opportunity to read this post. I found it very inspiring. We as individuals should know that the only way to change the world is to change ourselves 'cos we make up the world
