Just thinking............

Those who are close to me know that i love thinking alot.I mean deep thinking.it affords me the oportunity to be able to see into the near future.Deep thought is a product of a deep mind.I went into one of my regular "thinking sessions" yesterday. It was a very remarkable session, one of those session when i think about people and the world and i forget completely about myself and my immediate challenges. It keeps reminding me that the best is yet to come.I also want you to know that i care about you greatly and God cares the most.Do enjoy some of these thoughts that i pencilled down afterwards.............

Thought number one:

Perhaps this is a difficult year for you. The future stretching out before you may seem gloomy or threatening... In your rare moments of quiet, you may wonder, Where is God? He's right there at your side, my friend. He has never left. He has never removed His eye from you, nor has His attention wandered to other matters. Not even for a heartbeat. He has never ceased caring for you, thinking about you, considering your situation, and loving you with a passion and intensity beyond comprehension.

Thought number two :

Nothing surprises God. What puzzles us is permitted by our Lord, for reasons too profound to grasp. It is put together in the counsel of His own will so that it fits perfectly into His plan for His glory and for His purposes.

Thought number three :

God doesn't tell time as we do. Sometimes He does His work at three o'clock in the morning; sometimes at noon. He even works on Sundays. He does remarkable things, regardless of our time of day…. He ignores our deadlines and removes our crutches. He will leave our particular Red Sea absolutely closed, without an opening, without a sign, until He has finished teaching us the lessons we need to learn. Once that's accomplished, He has no trouble parting the waters and sending us through.

Just want you to know that we all go through different challenges at different points in our lives.Whatever it seems like you're going through, always try as much as possible to STAY INSPIRED!

Our problem with problems

Hey guys, really good to see you around here.I do not want to say i was passing by cos this is suppose to be my house (lol).I need to start coming around more often so as to put my house in order!I was having a group discussion with my friends about two days back that later culminated into an argument and i wish to comment on it here.

The argument later headed in the direction of Nigeria and how corruption and corrupt leaders are having a field day.I need to make it clear here that i personally do not love arguing cos it saps out my energy but i have also come to terms with the fact that it might really be an opportunity to get someone inspired; So instead of shying away from it.I go into it not to win but to add value to myself and others.

I didn't disagree completely with all they said but my "grouse" with them was why they think it was the Government that should be blamed for the situation of Nigeria. The media is saying the same thing, the "okada" riders and traders are singing the same song, move close to a newspaper stand in the morning and you hear different "de-motivating speeches" about Nigeria and her leaders from the "masses".Turn on your TV set and you'll see a lot of "political and economic analyst" making so much noise about why the Government has failed them. What this simply tells me is that any idiot can analyze a problem but it takes so much wisdom to solve problems.

We need to begin to see our "problems" as an opportunity to shine. We also need to begin to learn that a problem is a problem because it has a solution. For example, the rising and setting of the sun cannot be termed a problem cos it just must happen and we have learnt how to live with it.

We all need to begin to live our lives and make it count for something.Nigeria's story can be likened to that of the biblical prodigal son, i'm so sure you can still remember that the guy was later celebrated.

The truth is that we all face challenges everyday of our lives, how we see it and handle it will determine our ultimate result. I will not change the words of my mouth no matter what...Nigeria is a blessed land flowing with milk and honey. The opportunities are increasing by the day.Our main problem with problem is that we do not understand that it is an opportunity to prove ourselves.Until i come around again, always aspire to STAY INSPIRED!

He still loves us.....

The fear of rejection may be one of the most basic fears of the human experience. I’ll like to tell a heart-warming story of a man who finally decided to ask his boss for a raise in salary. It was Friday. He told his wife that morning what he was about to do.

All day the man felt nervous and apprehensive. Late in the afternoon he summoned the courage to approach his employer. To his delight, the boss agreed to a raise. The man arrived home to a beautiful table set with their best meal. His wife had prepared a festive meal. Immediately he figured that someone from the office had tipped her off!

Finding his wife in the kitchen, he told her the good news. They embraced and kissed, then sat down to a wonderful meal. Next to his plate the man found a beautiful lettered note. It read: "Congratulations, darling! I knew you'd get the raise! These things will tell you how much I love you."

While on his way to the kitchen to wash his hand, he noticed that a second card had fallen from her pocket. Picking it off the floor, it reads: "Don't worry about not getting the raise! You deserve it anyway! These things will tell you how much I love you."

Total acceptance! Total love. Her love for him was not contingent upon his success at work. In fact, just the opposite. If he were to fail there, if he were to be rejected by his boss, he'd be all the more accepted at home. She stood behind him no matter what; softening the blows, healing the wounds, believing in him, loving him.

That's the way God is with us, too! "We love Him because He first loved us."
Happy Sunday and always STAY INSPIRED!

YOUR OWN BIT IS NEEDED

Hey buddies,
Good to see you again. Someone once asked me if I was a machine cos it seems I try to do so much and i love to attend almost all meetings and seminars in town. I want to say here that doing right is not our nature as humans,we have to work at it consciously.I now know that all that works is been worked at and i have also learnt that nothing moves until we move.I also discovered that our world is but a reflection of who we are. Therefore, if we want to change the world, all we have to do is to change ourselves. We don’t need to change our parents for raising their voice at us, but rather listen to them carefully when they speak. We don’t need to change those that treat us like little kids, but rather act more mature around them. We don’t need to change our supervisors for not trusting us, but rather do an outstanding job consistently and gain their trust. The world is not something mystical or unknown. The world is the exact reflection of that which we choose to ignore about ourselves. The way to change the world is by changing ourselves. As mahatma Gandhi said “you must be the change you wish to see in the world”.
Most Nigerians complain a lot about everything. They start by complaining about their country, they say nothing is working and they flee a land flowing with milk and honey and they go in search of “greener pastures”. They complain about their friends and loved ones, families, what they don’t have. They also complain that their leaders are the major cause of their woes. Their attitude towards life is nothing to write home about. A life full of complaints will always see opportunities as difficulties.
Let’s beware of our attitude towards life because it will determine life’s attitude towards us. Our own quota or contribution is needed no matter how small. You cannot help others become a better person unless you are that person. As I wind up, I leave you to ponder over this:
As a young man, I wanted to change the world. I found it was difficult to change the world, so I tried to change my nation. When I found out that I could not change my nation, I began to focus on my town. I couldn’t change my town either, and as I grew older, I tried to change my family. I now realized that if long ago I had changed myself, I could have made an impact on my family, my family and I could have made an impact on our town. Their impact could have changed the nation and I could indeed have changed the world.Your own bit is all that is needed to get things done. Until i come around here, always aspire to STAY INSPIRED.

7-Up & Fiddo Diddo........

I remember 7-up was my favourite brand in time past;not because it was the tastiest drink around but basically because of my love for fiddo diddo.(Hope you guys can still remember our dear friend fiddo diddo?).I can't also forget the slogan "the difference is clear" that stood them out. All that made a lot of impression on me during childhood even though i never understood the depth of the message.I want to tell you more about my 7-Up and why it can make a lot of difference.Do come with me.....

1 . Wake Up !
Decide to have a good day. "Today is the day the Lord hath made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." Psalms 118:24

2. Dress Up !
The best way to dress up is to put on a smile. A smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks. "The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at outward appearance; but the Lord looks at the heart." I Samuel 16:7

3. Shut Up !
Say nice things and learn to listen. God gave us two ears and one mouth, so He must have meant for us to do twice as much listening as talking. "He who guards his lips guards his soul." Proverbs 13:3

4. Stand Up !
For what you believe in. Stand for something or you will fall for anything. "Let us not be weary in doing good; for at the proper time, we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good..." Galatians 6:9-10

5. Look Up !
To the Lord. "I can do everything through Christ who strengthens me". Philippians 4:13

6. Reach Up !
For something higher. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths." Proverbs 3:5-6

7. Lift Up !
Your Prayers. "Do not worry about anything; instead PRAY ABOUT EVERYTHING." Philippians 4:6

This "7-Ups" will step you up and also make a clear difference if strictly adhered to!Do not forget to always STAY INSPIRED!

what do u think?

Hi all,i just got this from a friend and it really got me inspired;I decided to share it with everyone and I hope it will get you inspired as well.

One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do. Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the well needed to be covered up anyway; it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey.

He invited all his neighbours to come over and help him. They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well. At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly. Then, to everyone's amazement he quieted down.

A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well. He was astonished at what he saw. With each shovel of dirt that hit its back, the donkey was doing something amazing. He would shake it off and take a step up.

As the farmer's neighbours continued to shovel dirt on top of the
animal, it would shake it off and take a step up. Pretty soon,
everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of
the well and happily trotted off!

Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt! The trick to
getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up. Each of
our troubles is a stepping stone. We can get out of the deepest wells just by not stopping, never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up and do everything in this world to STAY INSPIRED!

You are unique.

My childhood phase is one interesting one i cannot forget in a hurry. I remember vividly how we kids in the neighborhood usually disturb our parents for new toys or stuffs we see with our friends.I usually remind my dad about his promise to buy me a bicycle and his promise never ended!I can't clearly remember if i actually rode my bike except the one i ride frequently in my dream.I moved to a point where i started wishing i had a new set of parents who would begin to see a need for me to own a bike!

I have a feeling i'm not alone,i have obviously overgrown that but a lot of people still pass through this in an advanced manner.Someone is already asking how........remember how you use to think you would have become a professional basketballer if only you had being born in the United states and not Nigeria, how sweet life would have being if only you were born by Bill Gates or our own Aliko Dangote, and how you use to wish you were harley berry or jayz and various other wishes we usually nurse(i got you thinking, right?,lol).

Life didn't make much of a meaning until i came to that point of self discovery, until i realized that i was special and unique.Until i came to the point where i realized that i had special abilities on the inside that no one else can ever have.Until i realized that i was created to fulfil a unique purpose on this earth,i can easily relate to this cos i have been through it. Self discovery is one of the best things that can ever happen to any living being.

I have come to realize that every living being on this earth is special and a unique person. We all possess a distinct God-given talent. It’s no accident that we are different. There is something we were created to do and achieve during our brief stay on earth, that only a person with our qualities can do.Some people are skinnier, heavier, shorter, slower or simply funny looking. Some are good in writing, some singing, others sports, while some are simply creative. Those differences make us unique. Diamonds are valuable not because they are like other rocks, but because they are different. We, like diamonds are unique and it’s that uniqueness that makes us special. Remember we are special because we are different, not because we are like everybody else. You need not try to become someone else cos the best you can get is a second position! The world is an incredible unfulfilled tapestry and only you can fulfill that tiny space that is yours.

Folks, always have it in mind that you are special. In the entire world there’s nobody like you. Since the beginning of time, there has never been another person like you. You are the only one in all of creation who has your set of abilities. It’s no accident that you are special. Begin to realize that God made you unique for a very special purpose. He has a job for you that no one else can do as well as you. Out of all the billions of applicants, only one is qualified; only one has the right combination of what it takes, that one is you simply because you are unique.Till i come around here, always remember to STAY INSPIRED.

Before you watch that movie.

I love many things cos i always have my way of tapping inspiration from almost everything around me but if there is something i obviously do not like, it's watching movies(do not criticize me cos it won't work). The only reason i can adduce to this could be my restless nature(maybe we should call it hyper-active tendencies).A friend of mine screamed when i told him i hadn't seen more than ten movies since my sojourn on this planet!I find movies really boring because it is one of the few activities where i'm not directly involved. The basic rule is to just sit and watch.

Life can become a movie sometimes where we are the ones sitting back and watching life pass us by. We have many ideas to make our lives better but we seem to be stuck in an inertia phase.Action is the solution.I mean you need to act now now now(permit my Nigerian English). If you don’t take action, you will regret it,remember today will soon be tommorrow's yesterday. You have all it takes to get up and succeed. I also want you to know that nothing moves until we move and everything that works is being worked at.Find below some steps that has being working for me:

Get organized– If you have too many projects on the go, clear them all and start from the scratch. When you have wiped the slate clean, concentrate on a thing at a time until it’s finished and then move onto the next. If you can’t clear everything, just drop them temporarily, concentrate on one thing until it’s finished and then move on. You will find you move a lot quicker through everything you need to get done.

List everything – Make a list of everything you would like to do,Write it down. There is so much power in writing down.

Prioritise – Pick the most important thing you have to do for the day, or week or year, and then pick the next most important thing and so on until you have reached the bottom of your list.

Eliminate distraction – Eliminate the things you do from day to day that distracts you from taking action for example TV (i gave out mine!). When you eliminate distractions, your mind wants something to do and this makes you more inclined to take action on the things you want or need to do.

Take a day off – I'm sure this sounds a bit contradictory. It’s a simple piece of advice but one that is hard to do. Just take a whole day off, the world will still turn, the work will get done and nobody will die because you are not there. You will come back refreshed and ready to take action again which means you will be a lot more productive than you would have been should you have kept going.

Reduce analysis – This is the term given to people who are analysing things too much and it keeps them from moving on.I'm not advising that you should not plan but stop analysing and just do it! There comes a time when you have to stop evaluating something and just bite the bullet and do it, if it doesn’t work out, do something else and start again.

We are all working hard to keep getting it right,no one is perfect except God.Do not hesitate to share any other step/principle that has worked for you with us here.We are eager to learn. And remember, there is no other choice than to continually STAY INSPIRED!

Opportunity pt 1

oops!it's morning again.Just opened my eyes and was a lil sluggish.Thank God the harmattan haze is fizzling out.The days are counting fast, the clock hasn't got tired still! More lessons to be learnt...Life is just too short to play away.Today is our present, the only valid cheque we have to spend.Let us be conscious of this and spend it wisely. One interesting thing about living is the learning part of it, a mind that is open to the lessons of life can never grow old.I want you to see today like a special one, today comes with unique opportunities.Opportunities to right the wrong of yesteryears and also the opportunity to build a solid foundation for your tommorrow.I'll be talking more about opportunities tommorrow cos i need to go catch up with an "opportunity" in town now(lol).I'm expecting you guys to drop a line or two as a comment.See ya and always aspire to STAY INSPIRED.

I'm still inspired!

Hello everyone,
I basically have no excuse for not coming around here to update my blog for sometime now but if i'm permitted to give an excuse,i would simply say i have being very busy!I know someone is already reminding me that busy is a relative word.Big things are around the corner for me and i need to watch and pray(pray with my eyes opened (lol)).I got a text message from a "friend" that reads.........Shola,i hope you're still inspired?i laughed heartily for a couple of minutes before it really dawned on me what he implied. Thanks friend cos your text jolted me up from my "slumber".Life as it is gives us all an opportunity to learn, which simply means the essence of living is learning.I also want to say boldly that true inspiration comes from God.The proponents of the new age theories always have an "easy seven steps to.........." succeed, have good health , meet new friends, have great attitude, have a great love life and loads of all da positive things. The theories are always "easy" but how many people truly achieve this? Someone might say it's because they do not follow the "steps". I can authoritatively say that self help leads to frustration! The universe didn't just come to be, there is a supreme being that directs the affairs of the universe. I personally think it's a foolish thing for a product to go ask another product for a guide on how to function effectively!I believe strongly that locating God is the ultimate to living a fulfilled life. There is no way a product can function effectively outside that which it's manufacturer had intended for it(Naked truth).Like i always tell people, you're a success by right as a child of God.We all nead to begin to get hungry for our creator if we truly want to maximize our potentials here on this earth. My eyes are closing and i need to take a rest.Always remember you have no choice than to STAY INSPIRED!
